About the player
Gianluca Ferrari Born in Rosario, he moved into the Scandicci youth ranks and then to AD Valdinievole Montecatini, where he made his senior debut in Serie D. Bureaucratic issues over his stay in Italy sent him back to Argentina in 2017, and San Lorenzo took him on.
His path to regular football ran through Godoy Cruz. A loan spell there in 2020 turned permanent the following year, arranged as a swap deal that sent Jalil Elías to San Lorenzo in exchange for the bulk of Ferrari's economic rights. He went on to make 61 league appearances for the Mendoza club.
Atlético Tucumán took him on loan in January 2024, and he repaid the move with two goals in 21 appearances that year. The club exercised an option in December of that year to buy half of his playing rights from Godoy Cruz, and the transfer was made permanent in 2025.
He has not been capped by Argentina's senior side, nor is there any record of appearances for youth national teams in either Argentina or Italy.
