About the player
Ionuț Cojocaru came through the Gheorghe Hagi Academy, where he spent six years from 2016, and moved up to the Farul Constanța senior squad in 2022. Farul won the Liga I title in 2022–23, and Cojocaru was part of that squad, making his league debut on 6 February 2023.
In June 2023 he was loaned to Petrolul Ploiești, but the arrangement was ended early. He returned to Farul in September of that year without having played a competitive match for Petrolul.
The first senior goals came in April 2024, against Universitatea Craiova and CFR Cluj. He is right-footed but is used mainly on the left wing, and by September 2026 he had 49 league appearances for Farul and six goals.
On 28 August 2026 Farul announced that he would spend the 2026–27 season on loan at Sliema Wanderers in Malta. The deal includes an option to buy for €500,000.
For Romania he has been capped at youth level: eight times for the U20 side between 2022 and 2024, and twice for the U21s in 2025.
