J. Hato

Jorrel Hato came through Sparta Rotterdam's youth ranks before Ajax picked him up in 2018. He signed his first professional contract with Ajax in March 2022, made his debut for Jong Ajax in the Eerste Divisie that November, and stepped up to the Eredivisie side on 5 February 2023 — becoming the third youngest player ever to debut for the club. Ajax handed him the captain's armband for a European match in December 2023, making him the youngest captain in the club's history at that level.

The 2024–25 season confirmed his rise at Ajax: he won the Eredivisie's Marco van Basten Award for Talent of the Year and picked up the Abdelhak Nouri Trophy. That form took him to Chelsea on 3 August 2025, in a deal worth an initial £35.5 million, and he signed a seven-year contract through to 2032. He got off the mark for his new club with a goal in the FA Cup against Charlton Athletic on 10 January 2026, and later that season was part of the Chelsea squad that reached the FA Cup final, losing 1–0 to Manchester City.

On the international stage, Hato worked his way up through the Netherlands' youth sides at U16, U17 and U21 level before making his senior debut against Gibraltar on 21 November 2023. He has since been capped nine times by the senior side and was named in the Dutch squad for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, where he played one match.
