Y. Taib

Josef Taieb is a defender who has already been capped by Tunisia at Under-23 level, although he was born in Austria and came through the country's youth system. His debut for Tunisia U-23 came in June 2026, and it is his only appearance so far.

His route to that point ran through a long list of Viennese and Lower Austrian youth sides. He spent six years at ISS Admira from 2011, then moved through two smaller clubs before three years at SV Horn. In 2022 he had a short spell in the academy of FK Austria Wien and then moved to the academy of SK Austria Klagenfurt.

His senior career began in 2023 with SK Austria Klagenfurt II, where he played 11 times in the Kärntner Liga, the fourth tier, without scoring. That same year he joined Floridsdorfer AC, and the move gave him regular football at two levels. He has played 37 matches in the 2. Liga, the second tier, and 51 for the club's reserve side in the 2. Landesliga, where he scored once.

The reserve side's fifth-tier fixtures gave him a place to play between senior squad calls, and the club has since tied him down. His contract runs until June 2028.

Taieb plays at centre-back. Floridsdorfer AC's second-tier campaigns have been his main stage so far, and the Tunisia call-up gives him a second route to national-team football.
