Mirnes Bećirović

Mirnes Bećirović has spent close to a decade at Floridsdorfer AC, and for a player in the Austrian second tier that is a long time. He joined in July 2016 on a free transfer and has not been loaned out or moved mid-season since. By the 2024/25 season he had passed 275 league appearances for the club and scored 12 or more goals, which puts him among the most capped players Floridsdorfer have had in recent years. His contract runs to 30 June 2026.

His route there began in Lower Austria. He played youth football at USV Atzenbrugg-Heiligeneich from 1996 to 2003, then moved to the St. Pölten academy, where he stayed until 2008. He made his senior debut for SKN St. Pölten in the 2008/09 season, on the third matchday against FC Wacker Innsbruck. He stayed four seasons and played 92 league games, scoring twice.

In July 2012 he moved to First Vienna FC 1894, again on a free transfer. Two seasons there brought 67 league appearances and ten goals, a scoring return he has not matched since. In July 2014 he joined SK Austria Klagenfurt, where he played between 49 and 51 league games over two years without scoring.

He was born in Brčko, in Bosnia and Herzegovina, and holds Austrian nationality. His only international appearance came for the Austria U18 side in 2006. He has not played for the senior national team or for Bosnia and Herzegovina.

His career has been spent almost entirely in the second tier and below. Every transfer of his senior career was a free one, and he has won no league titles.
