Joseph Patrick Lumley

Joe Lumley was part of the Southampton squad that won the 2024 Championship play-offs and went up to the Premier League, though he did not play in the final.

He came into the game at Tottenham Hotspur, joining at ten from Buckhurst Hill, and was released in 2010. Queens Park Rangers gave him his first professional contract in May 2013. He went out on loan to Bishop's Stortford, Accrington Stanley, Morecambe and Stevenage before making his senior debut for QPR in January 2016.

At Bristol Rovers in 2017 he played 19 games and kept eight clean sheets; at Blackpool the following year he made 17 appearances with nine clean sheets. In 2018–19 he became first choice, playing 46 matches across all competitions and keeping 16 clean sheets. Further loans followed at Gillingham and Doncaster Rovers before QPR released him in 2021.

Middlesbrough signed him on a two-year deal, and in 2022–23 he was sent on loan to Reading. He played 41 times there, kept seven clean sheets and was voted the club's Players' Player of the Year. Southampton took him on a free transfer in August 2023.

Lumley joined Bristol City on a free transfer in June 2025. In October that year he made two appearances on loan at Sheffield Wednesday, and in July 2026 he returned there permanently on a two-year free transfer.
