About the player
Lamine Fomba arrived at Servette FC in July 2025 on a free transfer, signing a contract until June 2028, after two seasons at AS Saint-Étienne where he became a key member of the squad that won the Ligue 2 title in 2023–24 and secured promotion to Ligue 1. Born in Rosny-sous-Bois, he joined AJ Auxerre's academy in 2011 after starting out at ASMB and Red Star Club de Montreuil, and made his professional debut for the club in 2016. He went on to make 38 league appearances for Auxerre, scoring three goals, before Nîmes Olympique signed him in August 2019 for a fee reported between three and four million euros.
He was part of the side that fought to keep Nîmes in Ligue 1 during the 2020–21 and 2021–22 seasons.
At youth international level, Fomba represented France, earning six caps for the under-17s and featuring at the 2015 FIFA U-17 World Cup, before adding four caps and a goal for the under-18s. He has not featured for the senior French national team.
