About the player
Ľubomír Belko's move to Viking in February 2026 made him the most expensive goalkeeper in the history of MŠK Žilina. The fee was reported at roughly €1 million to €1.5 million, with potential bonuses, and he signed a contract running to the end of 2029.
From 2019 he played for the reserve side, Žilina B, in the Slovak Second League, and he stayed with that team until 2022 while also working his way into the senior squad.
His first-team debut came in August 2021. From there he became the first-choice goalkeeper at Žilina and went on to make more than 125 league appearances for the club between 2021 and 2026.
The move to the Eliteserien is his first time playing outside Slovakia.
