Maksim Kovel

Maksim Kovel came through the FC Minsk youth ranks before moving to the BATE Borisov academy, where he signed a professional contract in 2019. First-team opportunities at BATE never materialised, and he spent the following two seasons out on loan, turning out for Sputnik Rechitsa, Arsenal Dzerzhinsk and Smolevichi to get regular football under his belt.

The move that shaped his career came in February 2021, when he joined Isloch Minsk on a permanent deal. He settled there as a regular in defence, making 49 league appearances and scoring twice over four seasons.

In February 2025, Kovel took his football abroad for the first time, signing for Kazakh side Zhetysu Taldykorgan on a free transfer. He established himself as a first-team fixture, appearing around twenty times and adding two more goals to his tally. That stint lasted a year: in February 2026 he returned to Belarus as a free agent, signing with Dinamo Brest until the end of the year and taking the number 5 shirt.

A right-footed centre-back, Kovel has yet to add international recognition to his club record, with no senior caps for Belarus to his name. His path has been built instead on steady progress through the domestic game — academy football, a loan apprenticeship, and then a settled run at Isloch before testing himself overseas.
