About the player
Mamadou Diallo's route to Cheltenham Town's goal ran through a rival academy first. He started out at West Bromwich Albion before leaving that setup at under-15 level and joining Cheltenham's youth ranks at under-9, where he was spotted by scout Roger Hyett. He worked his way up through the age groups, became a scholar and signed his first professional contract with the club in March 2025.
His senior bow came in the EFL Trophy during the 2024/25 season. A short-term loan to Bath City followed that December, arranged for work experience, but the move was undone within days when he was recalled in January 2025 to serve as backup to Joe Day. Diallo went out again in August 2026, this time to Worcester City for a one-month loan in the Southern League Premier Division Central, gaining senior minutes before returning to Cheltenham in September 2026.
He is right-footed and stands 185cm tall. As a product of the club's own academy, his moves so far have carried no transfer fees.
