Michal Sáček

He played close to the full 90 minutes in every other game and finished the season with 2,038 minutes across all competitions. Sparta ended it with the MOL Cup, the Czech Cup, his main honour.

He reached Sparta by a route that began in small clubs of south Moravia: FC Hustopeče, MSK Břeclav, TJ Tatran Bohunice and FK Hodonín. At Hodonín his coach Mario Rossi recommended him to Sparta, and he stayed in the Prague club's youth system until 2016. He then broke into the first team and made 157 league appearances and scored three goals before leaving in 2023. He also turned out for the B team in 2022/23. A league title did not come in that time.

In February 2023 he moved to Jagiellonia Białystok on a free transfer and played 66 league games, scoring once. Jagiellonia tried to extend his contract, but he did not accept the offer. In the summer of 2025 he joined Górnik Zabrze, again for nothing, on a deal that runs until 30 June 2028. Lukas Podolski reportedly helped persuade him to sign.

For the Czech Republic he played twice for the U20s, scoring once in 2016, and made 15 appearances for the U21s in 2017 and 2018, scoring once. He was in the senior squad in June 2017 without playing. His one senior cap came on 8 September 2021, in a 1–1 friendly against Ukraine.
