Raul Alexander Florucz

Raul Florucz's move to Union Saint-Gilloise in 2025 came with a number attached to it: a fee of €5.5–6 million, a record for a Slovenian club sale. The transfer capped a season in which he had finished as PrvaLiga top scorer and been named the league's Player of the Year with NK Olimpija Ljubljana.

Florucz's path to that point ran through Croatia rather than his native Austria. After coming through the youth ranks at DSG Union Haid, FC Pasching and LASK, he joined NK Lokomotiva Zagreb in 2019 and picked up a Croatian Second League title on loan at Hrvatski Dragovoljac in 2020–21 before Lokomotiva sold him on to Olimpija in 2023. There he became the team's focal point, scoring 24 goals in 60 appearances and helping the club to the 2024–25 Slovenian championship.

At Union Saint-Gilloise he has continued scoring at a steady rate, with nine goals in 28 appearances, and has already added a Belgian Cup and Belgian Super Cup to his collection. Austria called him up for the first time in March 2025, and he made his senior debut as a substitute in a Nations League play-off against Serbia that finished 1–1. Left-footed despite often operating from the right, he had previously represented Austria's under-19 side.
