Rodrigo Granillo

Rodrigo Granillo made his professional debut for Atlético Tucumán on 30 July 2026, coming on as a substitute for Leandro Díaz in the 92nd minute against Central Córdoba de Santiago del Estero, a match his side won 2-0 in the Torneo Clausura. The appearance capped a rise through the club's youth system that began only three years earlier.

Born in La Rioja, Granillo spent five years in the youth academy at Talleres de Córdoba before moving to San Miguel de Tucumán in 2023, aged 17, to join Atlético Tucumán's youth ranks. He worked his way up through the club's reserve side, Atlético Tucumán II, where he built a strong scoring record in the Torneo de Reserva, finding the net 15 times in 72 appearances. Among his notable performances were a brace against Gimnasia Mendoza in September 2024 and a goal against Colón in 2025.

That form earned him a place in the first-team pre-season camp in December 2025. He is right-footed and operates as a forward, arriving in the first team as a product of the club's own academy rather than through any transfer.

He has yet to add a senior trophy to his name and has not been called up by the Argentina national team at any level. For now, his story is that of a teenager from La Rioja who worked his way through two academies to earn a handful of minutes in Atlético Tucumán's colours.
