About the player
Roman Zhmurko was in the Epitsentr Kamianets-Podilskyi squad that won the Ukrainian First League in 2024–25 and took the club into the top flight. He left that summer for Livyi Bereh, joining in July 2025. The club finished third in the First League the following season and beat Oleksandriya 2–1 on aggregate in the play-offs to reach the Premier League. Zhmurko has been a regular starter in goal for them in the 2026–27 Premier League season.
His route there was long. He came through the youth academy of UFK-Karpaty Lviv from 2010 to 2014. He made his senior debut for Volyn Lutsk in the Premier League in 2014, but the goalkeeper's shirt was not his for long: he played four times for the club before leaving in 2017.
Regular football came in the lower divisions. In February 2018 he signed for Nyva Ternopil in the Second League and played eight matches. A year later he moved to Sweden to join Anderstorps IF in the third-tier 3. Division Sydvästra Götaland, where he made 20 appearances.
Zhmurko returned to Ukraine in 2020. He joined Hirnyk-Sport Horishni Plavni that August and played 17 matches for them until 2022. Epitsentr followed, and in three years there he made 25 appearances. That included the title-winning season that brought him to the attention of Livyi Bereh.
