About the player
Saliou Mandiang was born in Arrecife, on Lanzarote, before making his first senior appearances with the club's third team. His time there was modest in numbers — a handful of appearances spread across two spells between 2020 and 2023, including a pair of goals in his final season — but it gave him the platform for a move that mattered more: a loan to Barakaldo.
That loan, running from August 2025 through May 2026, saw him make 36 appearances and score three goals.
Now signed by Lusitânia Lourosa as a free agent on a contract running to 2029, Mandiang arrives in Portugal with his career shifting from developmental football in the Canary Islands to a longer-term project abroad. He plays predominantly on the right of the attack and at 183cm.
There is no record yet of international recognition, at youth or senior level, for either Senegal or Spain, nations he could in principle represent. Nor is there a signature moment or individual honour attached to his name so far.
