About the player
Tom Atcheson's route into Blackburn Rovers' first team began in 2017, when he joined the club's academy at under-12 level. He stayed through every stage of the youth system, and in February 2023 he signed his first professional contract.
His first senior appearances came in the 2023–24 season, in the EFL Cup and the FA Cup. The centre-back then spent 2024–25 on loan at Marine. In November 2024, during that loan, he signed a four-year contract that runs to 2028.
His Championship debut for Blackburn came in December 2025. As an academy graduate, he arrived in the first team without a transfer fee.
Atcheson was born in Blackpool and plays for Northern Ireland. He moved up through the U17, U19 and U21 teams before making his senior international debut in March 2026. That debut came a few months after his first Championship appearance for his club.
He has not yet won a senior trophy.
