About the player
Villiam Granath was among the players who helped Skövde AIK win Division 2, the Swedish fourth tier, in 2016. That was the year he broke into the senior side, having come through the club's youth system after starting at Tymers IF. The title took Skövde up to Division 1.
He stayed with his hometown club for six more seasons, and his best-documented year came in 2021. Granath scored eight goals in 30 league matches, and Skövde won promotion to the Superettan through the playoffs.
In January 2023 he left Skövde for Halmstads BK, where he played until 2025. Neither the terms of that move nor those of his next one were made public.
In January 2026 he joined Mjällby AIF on a free transfer. The move brought a trophy in his first season with the club: he won the Svenska Cupen in 2025–2026.
Granath's route to Mjällby ran from the fourth division to a cup winner's medal, and he made most of that climb with two clubs.
