About the player
Daugavpils is where William Mukwelle's senior career started, and it is where he is playing again after returning in March 2026 on a free transfer. The Cameroonian forward played his youth football at Fovu Club de Baham in his home country before making his senior start in Latvia.
His first spell with BFC Daugavpils ran from 2021 to 2023. In 2022 the club sent him on loan to FK Auda, where he made 15 appearances over the season and came back with a full year of senior football behind him.
The move abroad came in September 2023, when he signed a four-year contract with FK Pardubice of the Czech First League. Over his years there he made seven appearances for the first team. He also played for the reserve side in the 3. liga, the level at which much of his football in the Czech Republic was played.
Pardubice was his club until 2026. He then went back to the team where he had begun, and he is now part of the Daugavpils squad in the Latvian Higher League, the competition he left in 2023 when he moved to the Czech Republic.
