Former Manchester City youth player and England Under-18 captain Courtney Meppen-Walter has died, with ex-club Bury leading tributes from the football community.

AFC Telford United go into this season in the Southern League Premier Central Division. New Bucks Head, where 6,380 can fit in.
The club exists because of a collapse. Telford United, tracing back to 1872 as Parish Church Institute and known as Wellington Town before taking the Telford name in 1969, folded in 2004 after owner Andy Shaw's business went under and debts passed £4 million. Supporters formed AFC Telford United that same year, adopting the motto "numquam obliviscere" — never forget.
The rebuilt club has had to work its way back up the pyramid. Matches against Shrewsbury Town carry the old Shropshire derby needle, while Kidderminster Harriers provide the other fixture supporters mark on the calendar.
Bernard McNally took the job of first manager when the new club had nothing but a name and a motto to build on.
