Juventude Évora

The 1950–51 season is the one Juventude Évora still points to: the club brought in Casimiro, a forward signed from Benfica, and he helped deliver the III Divisão title that year. A second promotion-tier crown followed in 2009–10, with a runners-up finish in 1995–96 sitting between them. Closer to home, 22 district championships in Évora mark out the club as the constant of local football, long before either national trophy arrived.

The club traces back to December 1918, and it has stayed a one-city institution since — the "Águias Azuis" nickname still used around Évora today. Development has run the other way too: Caraça started out here as a boy before Benfica took him.

Évora has room for two clubs playing minutes apart, and the fixture against Lusitano de Évora carries its own name, the Dérbi Eborense, sharpened by how close the two grounds sit to each other. Juventude's own ground changed hands with the calendar: the old Estádio Sanches de Miranda came down in 2025, and the newly built Estádio Juventude SC, holding 3,000, opened that October in its place.

2018 brought recognition beyond the pitch — the Gold Medal of the City of Évora, the Portuguese Sports Merit Medal, and a blessing from Pope Francis, all marking the club's centenary. On the field, though, the picture has been harder lately: relegation from the Campeonato de Portugal in 2024, and it returned only for the 2025–26 season, currently placed fourth in Série D, still working its way back to where the 1950s side once stood.
