Seychelles Women

Stade Liniète sits in Victoria, on Mahé, with room for around 10,000 spectators, and it is here that the Seychelles women's national team plays its friendlies.

There had been scattered women's football before it: a youth tournament in 2005, an under-17 side put together the following year. None of that carried FIFA's "A" team recognition. The senior team's first sanctioned match came on 5 July 2015, away to Mozambique in White River, South Africa, lost 7–3. The Seychelles Football Federation, which had existed since 1941 under a different name and joined FIFA in 1986, only began building a women's programme in earnest afterwards, formalising a strategy for the game in 2020 and, for now, assigning it a single full-time member of staff.

The federation's investment showed results slowly. Seychelles entered the FIFA/Coca-Cola Women's World Ranking for the first time in 2022, after accumulating the minimum six matches against ranked sides, under the Singaporean head coach Angeline Chua. That June the team reached 160th, its highest position to date; by June 2026 it had slipped to 175th. Results elsewhere have been modest — last in their group on their 2024 COSAFA Women's Championship debut, a semi-final finish at the 2015 Indian Ocean Island Games, a 5–0 win over Rodrigues at the 2022 Mauritius Triangular Tournament.

Several of the squad play their club football abroad. Natacha Bibi, the side's all-time leading scorer with more than 13 goals from just eight caps, turned out for Caprera Calcio in Italy. Pascallina Moustache, the captain, has played in Lithuania and Greece. Reena Esther signed professionally in Singapore. Between international windows, the group returns to Stade Liniète and to Victoria, still the only ground the team calls home.
