Uzbekistan U20 Women

The Uzbekistan Football Association set up an under-20 women's side to give its 1995 senior team a pipeline of players who had already faced continental opposition, and sent that group into its first recorded fixture on 20 April 2002, an AFC U-19 Championship match in India lost 1-5 to Myanmar. Progress since has run in bursts. Appearances at the continental finals came in 2002, 2004, 2015 and 2017 without a breakthrough, then in 2024, hosting the AFC U-20 Women's Asian Cup, Uzbekistan reached the semi-finals, lost 0-2 to Australia and 0-1 to Japan, and finished fourth — the best return in the age group's history. Two years later they went out at the quarter-final stage, beaten 1-2 by China PR.

Regionally the team has been harder to live with. It won the first CAFA U-20 Women's Championship in 2021 and took the title again in 2026, beating Tajikistan 7-0 in the final to finish ahead of Iran. Iran and Tajikistan remain the sides Uzbekistan sees most often at this level, CAFA competition being built around that trio.

Mexribon Egamberdiyeva has already stepped up from this age group to senior caps, one of the clearer signs of the pathway the federation built the team to provide. The side wears the senior team's crest, as Uzbekistan's youth sides do not carry separate badges, in blue, white and green after the flag, supplied by JAKO.

Home matches are played in Tashkent, at the 8,000-capacity Do'stlik Stadium, in front of crowds that have grown alongside the results since 2024.
