The Golden Rams defeated the Fighting Scots 44:24 in a regular-season NFL match on Saturday evening. The away side controlled proceedings from the opening stages and never looked back. This result marks another step forward for the visitors after their narrow win against the Lions last week.
The Fighting Scots had arrived in confident mood, having beaten the Panthers 38:36 on their previous outing. That victory suggested they might be finding their rhythm, but against a well-drilled opposition the same approach did not hold up. To be fair, the Rams have been steady all season and this performance reflected that consistency.
By then the scoreline told its own story. The Golden Rams built a substantial lead and saw out the contest without real pressure. The Fighting Scots managed to cross the try line twice, but could not match the visitors' attacking output. And here's the thing about American football — one mistake ends it, and this evening the home side made too many of them.
The 20-point margin is significant. The Fighting Scots will need to assess what went wrong when they had momentum from their earlier victory. The Golden Rams, meanwhile, have now stringed together consecutive wins and are building something worth watching.
This result leaves the Fighting Scots searching for answers after a promising start to the campaign. The Golden Rams have shown they can compete with anyone and will fancy their chances moving forward.
