Tommy saw off Toreros 50-17 in their regular-season NFL meeting on Saturday evening. The hosts ran out comfortable winners as the visitors found no answer to their attack. The scoreline reflected a match where one side carried the side while the other ran out of legs.
Tommy enter this fixture in strong form, having won three of their last four games. They held on grimly against Thunderbirds last week before that emphatic victory over Wildcats. The only blemish in that run came in a heavy defeat to Fighting Hawks, but this performance suggests they are back on track.
Toreros arrive with a far less impressive record. They beat Mustangs in their most recent outing, but that win comes after two straight losses to Bengals and Edgits. They have been going through a difficult patch and this result does little to ease the pressure on them.
The 33-point margin tells its own story. Tommy made the most of their opportunities while Toreros could not string anything together. By then, the game was already decided and there was little doubt about the outcome.
For Tommy, this extends their unbeaten run to three games and keeps them in a positive position. Toreros are staring at the drop after this latest setback, and they will need to regroup quickly if they want to turn things around.
