Elías José Gómez

Elías Gómez came up through Rosario Central's academy, joining as a boy in 2006 and staying until 2013, when he made his senior debut against Olimpo. A loan spell at Sportivo Las Heras had already given him a taste of first-team football, with a single appearance in the Torneo Argentino B. Back at Rosario Central, two further loans followed, to Defensa y Justicia and then to Argentinos Juniors, before he won the Copa Argentina with the club in the 2017–18 season.

His move away from Rosario Central in 2020 came in stages: Argentinos Juniors first signed half of his economic rights, then bought the rest the following year. River Plate paid US$1.5 million for 70% of those rights when they signed him in January 2022, and he was part of the squad that won the Liga Profesional de Fútbol in 2023.

Gómez left River Plate for Vélez Sarsfield in August 2023, in a deal worth US$1 million for half his economic rights, with River retaining a quarter share. He signed a three-and-a-half-year contract at Vélez and has since added further honours to his record, winning the Liga Profesional de Fútbol in 2024 along with the Supercopa Internacional and Supercopa Argentina, both from the 2024 campaign but settled later, in July and September 2025 respectively. He came up short in the 2024 Trofeo de Campeones, finishing runner-up to Estudiantes de La Plata.
