About the player
Hygor joined Ferroviária in 2012 and stayed registered with the club until 2023, but the bulk of that period was spent out on loan, moving through Ivinhema, Barretos, Guariba, Noroeste, a spell in South Korea with Suwon Samsung Bluewings, Penapolense, Sport Recife, Juventude, Paysandu and two stints at Criciúma. It was during the loan to Noroeste, in 2015, that he had his breakout season, finishing as top scorer of the Campeonato Paulista Série A2 with 22 goals in 22 matches.
Silverware followed in patches rather than a steady run: the Copa Paulista with Ferroviária in 2017, the Campeonato Catarinense Série B with Criciúma in 2022, the Copa do Nordeste with Ceará in 2023 — the year he finally left Ferroviária on a permanent deal — and the Campeonato Catarinense proper with Avaí in 2025. Across that itinerant career he has passed 75 senior goals.
Now at Botafogo-SP, having arrived on a free transfer from Avaí, Hygor carries the number 9 shirt into a new state and a new dressing room.
