About the player
Perlaza returned to Barcelona SC in January 2026 on a free transfer, signing a three-year deal after his contract at Querétaro F.C. expired. It was not his first spell with the club: he had already worn the shirt on loan between 2021 and 2022, a period in which he made 68 appearances, scored twice — once in the Copa Libertadores, once in LigaPro — and added seven assists.
The forward, left-footed and born in Guayaquil, started out at Rocafuerte F.C. in 2014, playing 26 league matches in two seasons before a move to Guayaquil City in 2016. Over three years there he scored five goals in 54 league appearances, form that took him abroad to Mexico's Querétaro F.C. in 2019.
His time in Mexico was interrupted by an ACL tear in August 2023. To help his recovery, Querétaro sent him on loan to Dorados de Sinaloa for the 2024 Clausura tournament.
At international level, Perlaza has represented Ecuador only at youth level and has not been capped by the senior national team.
