Leyser Chaverra Rentería

Leyser Chaverra Rentería is from Quibdó and came through the youth system at Boca Juniors de Cali before making his professional debut with Universitario de Popayán on 4 March 2015. From there he moved to Deportes Quindío in 2017, where he became one of the club's key figures, making around 100 appearances and contributing eight goals and seven assists. In 2021 he was part of the Quindío side that reached the Gran Final of the Primera B; they lost to Atlético Huila 3-1 on aggregate but still went up to the Primera A on the strength of their position in the standings.

Chaverra joined Independiente Medellín as a free agent in July 2023 on a three-year deal. At the club he built a reputation from the penalty spot, with his conversion record described as almost perfect. He was named the standout player in a 4-1 win over Jaguares de Córdoba in October 2024, a match in which he scored from the spot. In the 2026 season he added two goals and an assist, averaging a 7.1 rating across his appearances. His contract with Medellín was extended to run until June 2028, before he moved to Deportivo Cali on loan with an option to buy in July 2026.

At international level, Chaverra has represented Colombia at youth level rather than with the senior side. He played eight matches for the under-20s at the 2017 South American U-20 Championship, and won gold with the under-21 team at the 2018 Central American and Caribbean Games in Barranquilla, where he made four appearances.
