About the player
Luca Wimhofer grew up through LASK's youth ranks after starting out at SV Hellmonsödt, and his senior career began not at the Linz club itself but with FC Juniors OÖ in the 2. Liga, where he made four appearances before the team was withdrawn from the league. He moved into LASK Amateure OÖ in the Regionalliga and, over the following two seasons, was also handed minutes with LASK's first team, making two Bundesliga appearances.
His development continued away from Linz, on loan at SV Horn. He spent two separate spells there, the first in 2023–2024 and the second from September 2024 to June 2025, totalling 22 appearances in each campaign and two goals in the first.
In the summer of 2025, Wimhofer left LASK for good, joining SKU Amstetten as a free transfer on a contract running to 2027. At international level, he has represented Austria at youth level, with six caps for the under-18s and one for the under-19s.
