O. Bassett

Ollie Bassett made history at Yeovil Town before he was out of his teens, becoming the club's youngest-ever Football League player when he debuted at 17. What followed was a winding route through non-league England, New Zealand and Australia — Dorchester Town, Gresley, Coalville Town, then Waitakere United and Team Wellington across two seasons, a spell with St Albans Saints, and a return home to Nuneaton Borough — before the Canadian Premier League turned his career around.

Bassett joined Pacific FC in April 2021 and won the North Star Shield that year, though he did not feature in the playoffs. The real breakthrough came at Atlético Ottawa, where he signed in January 2022. He was named CPL Player of the Year and Players' Player of the Year in 2022, then shared the Golden Boot in 2023 with 11 goals alongside Myer Bevan. By the time he left in 2024, he had become Atlético Ottawa's all-time leader in appearances, goals and assists.

Through the 2026 season he has made 20 league appearances, chipping in with an assist against Pacific FC in a 3-3 draw and creating 17 chances for his new side.

Internationally, Bassett is Northern Irish and earned a single U19 cap in 2016, though he has not been capped at senior level.
