About the player
Santiago González came through Tigre's own academy. He signed his first professional contract in January 2024 and made his debut that March, in the Copa de la Liga Profesional against Belgrano. Since then he has taken the number 27 shirt and building up around 56 appearances across all competitions, with a goal and an assist to his name in the league and further contributions in cup football.
His form at Tigre did not go unnoticed elsewhere. In August 2025, Brazilian club Santos reportedly made an offer of around $4 million for the midfielder, though the move never materialised and González stayed with the club that developed him.
At 183 cm and 85 kg, González offers physical presence in midfield. He has not yet been capped by Argentina at any level.
