Thiago Serrago

Tiago Serrago came up through River Plate's academy after starting out at Gimnasia y Esgrima de Buenos Aires, joining the club's youth school at the age of six. He signed his first professional contract with River Plate in March 2021 and had it extended in November 2023. His route to senior football went through two loan spells rather than a direct breakthrough at the Monumental.

The first came at Defensa y Justicia in February 2024, where he made his professional debut against Central Córdoba in the Copa de la Liga Profesional before rescinding the deal that June to return to River Plate. The second, a year-long loan at Aldosivi from January 2025, gave him his most significant senior football to date: 27 appearances and his first professional goal, scored against Boca Juniors on 22 March 2025 just 28 seconds after coming on as a substitute — one of the fastest debut goals recorded in the Argentine Primera División.

Serrago returned to River Plate at the end of that loan spell before being sent out again in December 2025, this time to Tigre for the 2026 season. The agreement was arranged free of charge and gives Tigre the option to buy 50% of his registration rights for 1.6 million dollars.

At youth level with River Plate's reserve side, Serrago won the Copa Proyección Sur Finanzas and the Trofeo de Campeones de Reserva in 2024. A right-footed attacking midfielder, he has yet to feature for Argentina at any national team level.
