William Gustavo Álvarez Vargas

Since making his debut with Real Potosí in 2016, the Santa Cruz-born forward has cycled twice through Guabirá and returned to Nacional Potosí after a spell at Universitario de Vinto. That restlessness has coincided with genuine goalscoring form: across his career he has scored 21 goals in 82 matches.

His sharpest night in front of goal came in October 2022, when he scored a hat-trick as Nacional Potosí beat Palmaflor 6-1. Two years later, in the 2024 Copa Sudamericana, he produced two moments that stood out even by those standards: a goal in a 4-1 win over Fortaleza, and a winner scored in the 92nd minute against Sportivo Trinidense. In 2025 he won the Copa Bolivia with Nacional Potosí, the first national title in the club's history.

Álvarez has also represented Bolivia at senior level, earning two caps since his debut in a friendly against Chile on 27 March 2021, though he has yet to score for the national team. Right-footed by trade despite occasional suggestions otherwise in match statistics, he remains capable of finishing with his left foot when the situation calls for it. He is back at Nacional Potosí, the club where his most productive and decorated spell has taken shape.
