Wuilker Fariñez Aray

Wuilker Fariñez made his professional debut for Caracas FC in 2014 at the age of 16 and had become the club's first-choice goalkeeper within a year. He set the club record for the longest run without conceding a goal, 689 minutes, in 2015, and was named the best goalkeeper in the Venezuelan Primera División in both 2016 and 2017.

His performances at youth level drew wider attention: at the 2017 FIFA U-20 World Cup he became the first goalkeeper in the competition's history to score a goal, against Vanuatu, and helped Venezuela reach the final, where they took the silver medal. That tournament led to his move to Colombia, where he signed for Millonarios and won the Superliga Colombiana in 2018.

A loan to RC Lens in France's Ligue 1 followed in 2020, and after his debut in December of that year the club exercised an option to sign him permanently. He stayed at Lens until his contract was ended by mutual consent in January 2024, after which he returned to Caracas FC. A spell at Águilas Doradas came in 2025, before his move to Internacional de Bogotá, the successor to La Equidad.

Fariñez has long been Venezuela's first-choice goalkeeper, having made his senior international debut against Panama in 2016 and gone on to earn 42 caps. He started at the 2019, 2021 and 2024 Copa Américas, and at the 2019 edition he kept clean sheets against Peru and Brazil and was singled out for the best save of the tournament.
