About the player
Yago Sousa broke into América Mineiro's first team in 2023 having come through the club's youth ranks since 2021. He became a regular fixture in the Série B campaigns of 2025 and 2026, eventually reaching 49 appearances for the first team.
That run ended abruptly in August 2026, when he was left out of América's squad, and within weeks the move that followed took him out of Brazilian football altogether: a loan to Al-Fayha in the Saudi Pro League, confirmed on 7 September 2026 and running until July 2027. He joined the Saudi club alongside compatriots Hugo Souza and Lázaro, with no transfer fee disclosed.
