Chapelton

Craig Butler built Phoenix Academy in Clarendon Parish to develop young Jamaican talent, carrying the "Phoenix" name into the club's official title. The academy's reputation rests on players who moved through it and out into the professional game, Leon Bailey chief among them, a graduate who went on to Bayer Leverkusen, Aston Villa and the Jamaica national team.

The club itself dates to 1980, taking its nickname from the Maroons of Jamaican history, a name the team wears in dark maroon shirts. The breakthrough came only in the 2023–24 season, when the club won the JFF Championship, Tier II of Jamaican football, and secured its first-ever promotion to the Jamaica Premier League. A prior run at promotion, as runners-up in 2021–22, had ended in relegation before that title arrived.

On the pitch, the fixtures that matter most are against Clarendon Parish neighbours Vere United and Humble Lion, games known locally as the Clarendon derby.

Chapelton played for years at Turner's Oval, a 300-capacity pitch in the community of Turners, until the property was sold to Cavalier FC in 2026. With their traditional home gone, the club registered a new base at the Drax Hall Sports Complex in St Ann, a facility it now shares with Mount Pleasant Football Academy.
