Hakkari Zapspor

The Merzan Şehir Stadyumu is located in Hakkari. Hakkari Zapspor has played there since it was founded in 2011.

The club's full name carries a mining sponsor, Meskan Ölmez Madencilik, but around Hakkari it is known simply by its colours, yellow and black. It has won the Hakkari 1st Amateur League three times, in 2010–11, 2017–18 and 2022–23, though promotion out of the regional level did not follow every title. The closest it has come to reaching the Profesyonelliğe Geçiş Ligi in recent memory was the 2024–25 season, when the team led the table for long stretches before finishing second; local reporting pointed to disciplinary rulings by the Turkish Football Federation as part of what cost them top spot.

One figure the club has held onto is Ersin Korkut, an actor from Hakkari who captained the side in his youth and is still treated as an honorary captain, a link between the dressing room and the town that outlasted his playing days.

Games against Hakkarispor FK draw the sharpest attention, billed locally as the Hakkari Derbisi. Yüksekova Belediyespor supplies the other fixture that matters.
