«Panthers»
The Panthers carry the name of a region but have a city's address. When the NFL awarded the Carolinas their franchise on 26 October 1993, the 29th in the league, it was Charlotte that got the team, and the team took the Carolina name. Play began in 1995, the same season as the Jacksonville Jaguars. The stadium, now Bank of America Stadium with 75,525 seats, was called Ericsson Stadium until 2004.
In the 2003 season they won the NFC Championship and met New England in Super Bowl XXXVIII, losing 32-29.
It won the division in 2013, 2014 and 2015, and the 2015 side won the NFC Championship again. In Super Bowl 50 it lost 24-10 to Denver, and the club has not won a Super Bowl.
The latest came in 2025, and it also took the Panthers to the playoffs for the ninth time.
