Sparda Sportpark
Karlsruhe, Germany
Formerly: Funpark
Sparda Sportpark sits on the campus of the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology.
The pitch is synthetic turf. It is primarily the home of the KIT SC Engineers, the American football side that has won the Deutscher Hochschulmeister title ten times. The Engineers played a 1999 final here in front of the home crowd. The facility also holds the KIT SC 2010 reserve football team.
What distinguishes this place from a standard university pitch is the FEST CUP. Every year, the ground is taken over by skateboarding, BMX, and inline skating.
The grounds include a McArena Freiluft Sporthalle and courts for tennis and basketball, but the synthetic surface remains the focal point. It is a working venue for Hochschulsport, hosting the annual "Sport-Sommerfest" alongside the day-to-day training of university athletes.
