«Engineers»
Most of the men suiting up for the Engineers spend their weekdays across the labs and lecture halls of the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology, and it shows in how the club talks about itself. The team carried its early identity for over two decades before joining the KIT SC sports club in August 2013, taking on the name it wears now.
Its record belongs almost entirely to German student football. The Engineers have been crowned German University Champions ten times, a run stretching from 1996 to 2018. Regional senior football took longer to fall into place; the club only claimed the Regionalliga Südwest in 2025.
Games against the Heidelberg Hunters and the Pforzheim Wilddogs carry the usual edge of nearby rivals, though nothing has hardened into a fixed, named derby the way it has at older clubs.
Home fixtures are played out at the Sparda Sportpark on Engler-Bunte-Ring, a compact ground built for around a thousand spectators, tucked into the same campus where most of the players spend their mornings before pulling on green in the afternoon.
