Stadion Am Gelben Sprung
Wuppertal, Germany
Stadion Am Gelben Sprung is located in Wuppertal. The name comes from a spring with slightly yellowish water that flows nearby, a feature that gave its name to the street and the district established in 1935.
The facility has served as the home ground for ASV Wuppertal and the Wuppertal Greyhounds, an American football side founded in 1980. It was previously used by SSVg Barmen, which played there after 1945 before merging into ASV Wuppertal in 1970. The main football pitch has a natural grass surface, though the complex includes a synthetic running track and a smaller artificial turf kick-about field. A major renovation of the running track was completed in May 2026, replacing an asphalt surface with a synthetic 'Hertha Blue' track, including new drainage, long jump, and shot put facilities.
Crowds here are small, rarely exceeding 600 spectators. The capacity is disputed: Stadioncheck.de lists 3,500 total capacity (with 400 uncovered seats), while Wikipedia and Europlan cite 4,000. The venue has floodlights and a running track. It hosts local matches, including Wuppertaler SV games in the Oberliga Nordrhein and Greyhounds' WupperBowl tournaments.
