For most of its history, this ground in Łódź went by whatever it stood near, not by any name of its own. Built between 1933 and 1938 and opened in September 1938, it passed to Włókniarz Łódź and spent the rest of the twentieth century known simply as the club ground on Kilińskiego Street — a label that drifted along with the street's own renaming. Only in 1997, when the newly formed Szkoła Mistrzostwa Sportowego took charge, did the venue finally settle on the name it carries now, after Kazimierz Górski.
That handover brought the one real facelift the place has seen: plastic seating went into the west stand in blue and white.
