Copa Super 8 de Basquete is a professional basketball tournament in Brazil. Organized by the Liga Nacional de Basquete (LNB) in partnership with the NBA, the event serves as a mid-season fixture. It takes place annually, typically in January or February, bridging the two halves of the Novo Basquete Brasil (NBB) regular season.
The competition features the top eight teams from the first half of the NBB regular season. The format is a single-elimination knockout tournament consisting of quarterfinals, semifinals, and a final. Matches are played as single legs. Home-court advantage is awarded to the team with the higher ranking in the first turn. The winner of the Copa Super 8 earns a direct qualification spot for the Basketball Champions League Americas (BCLA), the premier continental club competition.
The tournament was created to provide a competitive mid-season challenge and to offer a pathway to continental competition for the best teams in the first half of the domestic season. It is distinct from the Torneio Abertura, which is a pre-season tournament held in September or October before the NBB begins, often featuring invited teams rather than those based on league standings. It is also distinct from the NBB playoffs, which occur at the end of the full season. The Copa Super 8 has no promotion or relegation implications, as it is a standalone cup competition within the NBB framework.
Historical winners include Flamengo (4 titles: 2018, 2020-21, 2023-24, 2024-25), Sesi Franca (3 titles: 2019-20, 2022-23, and one earlier), and Minas Tênis Clube (2 titles: 2021-22, 2025-26). Flamengo is the most successful club in the tournament's history. The current holder (as of early 2025) is Flamengo, having defeated Minas Tênis Clube in the 2025 final. Other notable participants include São Paulo, Unifacisa, and Pinheiros.
