About

The National League Women is the premier professional women’s basketball competition in Kazakhstan, organized by the National Basketball Federation of the Republic of Kazakhstan (NBFK). Sitting at the apex of the national pyramid, the league crowns the official Champion of Kazakhstan. While the broader championship dates back to 1992, the current structure was established in 2012, separating it from the second-tier Higher League founded in 2015.

The 2024–2025 campaign features six clubs: Aktau Women, Astana Women, Barsy Atyrau Women, Okzhetpes Women, Pavlodar BC Women, and Turan Women. Matches unfold through a regular season, often arranged in centralized tours or round-robin stages, before advancing to playoffs. These knockout rounds include Quarterfinals, Semifinals, and Finals, decided via best-of-3 or best-of-5 series.

Astana Tigers hold the record for most titles with six victories between 2009 and 2020. Pavlodar BC Women also dominate the history book; the club secured its 15th championship in the 2023–2024 season after defeating Astana Tigers in the final. Other past winners include Irtysh-PNKhZ, which claimed four titles in the early 2010s, alongside single-trophy winners Okzhetpes, Kaspiy, and Turan.

The league operates independently from the men’s National League and the women’s Higher League, ensuring it remains the exclusive top-flight entity for women’s club basketball in the country. There is no confirmed promotion or relegation system detailed in available sources.
