1 Liga (Poland) 2026/27

The Suzuki I Liga operates as the second tier of Polish basketball, sitting directly beneath the top-flight Polska Liga Koszykówki. Administered by the Polish Basketball Federation, the league serves as a critical feeder system for the professional division. While the competition has existed since the 1954/1955 season under the designation II liga, it adopted its current name following the professionalization of the elite tier in 1995.

The structure of the campaign involves a round-robin format where participating sides face one another twice, resulting in 34 rounds of play. This regular season determines qualification for the postseason, where the top eight squads advance to best-of-five series leading to a championship final. Victory in these playoffs grants the winner the opportunity to apply for promotion to the premier league, contingent upon satisfying strict financial and infrastructure criteria imposed by the governing commercial entity.

Historically, Polonia Warszawa holds the record for the most titles won at this level. Other clubs with multiple successes include Gwardia Wrocław, ŁKS Łódź, and Górnik Wałbrzych. The competitive landscape differs significantly from the upper echelon due to its semi-professional status and direct management by the national federation rather than a separate commercial body.

Recent seasons have seen fluctuations in the number of relegated teams, with figures ranging between two and four depending on licensing outcomes and squad sizes. The most recent edition concluded with Miasto Szkła Krosno claiming the title after defeating Astoria Bydgoszcz in the deciding matches.
