Aistes LSU Kaunas Women — Liepajas Papirs/LSSS Women: 52:75, Moteru Lyga Women

Liepājas Papīrs/LSSS secured a 75:52 win over Aistės LSU Kaunas in the Moterų Lyga on Saturday. The visitors took control early and saw it out without trouble. Aistės, sitting fifth in the table, have now lost five in a row.

The home side's recent run reads like a catalogue of disappointments. They lost 56:73 and 72:78 to LKK, followed by two heavy defeats against Neptūnas Klaipėda. Only the 56:65 loss to Rūgštis Merks in February offered a glimmer of competitiveness.

Liepājas showed they can pick up wins when it matters. They beat Rūgštis 61:54 at the start of March, though they also suffered 43:73 and 58:83 defeats against Neptūnas. Their 82:84 loss to Šiauliai suggested they could compete at this level.

By then the visitors had found a rhythm, and this result confirmed it. Aistės have nothing to lose now, but that has not stopped them from losing.

The away side move up the standings while the home club drifts further down. Five wins from twelve games leaves Aistės with no points on the board and a growing gap to the teams above them.
