Örgryte IF HF came from behind to beat Amos HK 34-31 in the Swedish Cup on Tuesday evening. The result leaves the hosts still top of the table, but the visitors now have something to say about their place in second.
Amos started brightly, as you would expect with three wins from three. They moved well in the opening period and looked comfortable building a lead. The home crowd sensed it early, and the tempo stayed high throughout.
But Örgryte refused to go away. They adjusted at half-time, found gaps in the defence, and started to string together their own sequences. The score shifted gradually, then more sharply. By then the momentum had clearly turned.
We had backed the hosts for victory, calling it a 62 per cent chance before kick-off. We were wrong. Örgryte simply outlasted them when it mattered, and the higher-scoring finish told you everything.
The table now shows Amos with six points from three games, while Örgryte sit on two after one win and two draws. The gap is still there, but the visitors have shown they can compete with anyone.
This was not a match decided by one moment. It was decided by which side could keep their head when the score tightened. Örgryte did that, and they walk away with all three points.
