Moscow's recent run has been nothing short of ruthless. They beat Saratov 101:53, UNICS Kazan 110:36, and Parma Perm 83:46 — and then carried that momentum into this cup tie. CSK Ural have been steady rather than spectacular, with a 103:98 win over Tobolsk and a 95:62 victory against Uralmash Ekaterinburg 2 among their results.
The margin of victory tells the story neatly. Moscow's attack opened up and ran the show, while CSK Ural simply could not find a rhythm. The away side's defensive structure appeared to fall apart after the opener, and they gave nothing away in return. To be fair, the gap had been building since the opening period.
Both teams remain level on points at the top — three wins each, zero draws, zero defeats. Moscow's only blemish in recent memory came against Chelyabinsk in late October, when they lost 68:73. CSK Ural also lost to that same side 67:85 on 8 October 2025, but have since tightened up considerably.
The draw brought them together early in the standings, but Sunday's result shifts the psychological balance. Moscow have extended their unbeaten run to eight across all competitions, while CSK Ural will need to regroup quickly. The cup may yet produce another fixture between them.
