SK Krylatskoye
Moscow, Russia
Formerly: Palace of Sports "Dinamo" in Krylatskoye (for Basket Hall)
The venue identified as SK Krylatskoye in Moscow is not a single stand but a complex split between two arenas. It sits alongside the Krylatskoye rowing canal, a stretch of water left over from the 1980 Olympics that is now undergoing reconstruction. The sky over the canal looks heavy, but the ice inside the main hall has been artificially maintained since the facility opened in September 2004.
The Ice Palace Krylatskoye is the primary structure. It is the first covered ice rink in Russia with a 400-meter indoor speed skating track. It also hosts HC Dynamo Moscow for bandy. The capacity stands at 7,209 seats, a figure that was reached during the 2010 Bandy World Championship final between Russia and Sweden. The building survived an emergency repair job in 2007-2008 after a roof cable snapped, and a major capital renovation was completed in September 2023 after the complex had served as a COVID-19 hospital.
There is a second hall in the complex called the Basket Hall Moscow. The facility opened on August 30, 2006, and was renamed in 2020 when it was incorporated into the GBU "Sports Complex Megasport". It has been the home arena for BC Dynamo Moscow and BC MBA since 2013. The attendance record for basketball here was 3,604 spectators for a match between MBA and CSKA on January 28, 2024.
