Bahrain beat Kuwait 95 to 67 in the FIBA Asia Cup on 31 August 2026. The visitors finished comfortable after a second-half shift that left the hosts chasing. Kuwait had started reasonably enough, but the gap opened up once Bahrain found their range.
By then Bahrain were already working off a rhythm they had not quite shown against the UAE three days earlier. They turned it on when they needed to, and Kuwait's defence could not hold its shape. The visitors took control and did not look back.
The difference came down to efficiency rather than volume. Both sides attempted 66 field goals, but Bahrain converted 32 compared to Kuwait's 29. More telling was the three-point shooting: Kuwait made 4 from 23 attempts while Bahrain hit 14 from 38. Those extra points added up quickly.
Ball movement was another dividing line. Bahrain recorded 21 assists against Kuwait's 8, and they committed fewer turnovers as well — 11 to 15. Kuwait also drew 21 personal fouls compared to 15 for the visitors, which disrupted their defensive flow. Bahrain shot 17 free throws from 22 attempts while Kuwait managed only 5 from 13.
The result leaves Kuwait with questions to answer after a tournament that has not gone their way. They lost to the UAE 75-72 on 27 August and had not won since their opener against Oman. Bahrain, meanwhile, extended a run that includes five straight victories and shows they are close to the top of this group.
